Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Kernan was a minor league manager for many years. He later was a scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1938) and Chicago Cubs (1945-1952). An infielder during his playing career, he hit .250 with 1 HR in the 1927 Mississippi Valley League and .247/~.272/.302 in 73 games for the 1929 Waterloo Hawks.

Kernan managed the 1920 Saskatoon Quakers and 1927 Rock Island Islanders.

As a scout, he signed Jim Fanning.

He was once listed as dying in DeLand, FL, however he was found to have died in Cook County, IL.
