Biographical Information

Joe Hutcheson holds the record for most home runs by a player in a Memphis uniform - he hit 101 homers for the Memphis Chicks between 1930 and 1935.

He was also known as "Texas Joe" Hutcheson in addition to his two listed nicknames.

He was used a lot in right field during his stint with the 1933 Brooklyn Dodgers. He first appeared on July 8, and from then till the end of the season he appeared in 55 games (his field appearances were all in right field) with 184 at-bats. When the season was over, he was traded to St. Paul.

Through 2009 he is the player out of the University of North Texas with the most major league at-bats.
