Biographical information[edit]
Joe Ferris was a pitcher who is most notable for winning the 1964 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award while a sophomore at University of Maine. He is the only player from University of Maine to win that award. Ferris never played in the minors. He was inducted into the University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 1988 and, later, the Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
He later became a lawyer.
