Biographical Information[edit]
Joe Dillon played in Japan with the Yomiuri Giants during the 2006 season. He hit .195 (17 for 87) with four extra-base hits in 31 games while playing 1st base, 3rd base, and the outfield.
Dillon served as hitting coach of the Syracuse Chiefs in 2014-2015. In 2016 he joined the Miami Marlins as minor league hitting coordinator. In 2018, he was named assistant hitting coach of the Washington Nationals. In 2020, he was named hitting coach of the Philadelphia Phillies, staying until the end of the 2021 season. He returned to the majors in 2024 as an assistant hitting coach for the Kansas City Royals.
