Joseph H. "Joe" Brown pitched in the majors in 1927. He had some things in common with the earlier major leaguer named Joe Brown.
- Both were known as "Joe Brown" - this Joe was Joseph H. Brown, the other was Joseph E. Brown.
- Both were pitchers - although Joseph E. Brown also made some appearances in the outfield.
- Both played in Chicago - Joseph H. Brown pitched for the 1927 Chicago White Sox, while Joseph E. Brown pitched for the 1884 Chicago White Stockings.
- Both died young - Joseph H. Brown at age 49, Joseph E. Brown at age 29.
This Joe spent seven years in the minors, winning in double figures each of three years with the Oklahoma City Indians. He was also in Shreveport three years; in one year he was 17-9.
