Joe Borzellino was a shortstop for three years in the minor leagues. He debuted with the 1953 Wisconsin Rapids White Sox, hitting .215/~.370/.264 and tying teammate Frank Layana for the Wisconsin State League in times plunked (14). He fielded .922, the best of any starting WSL shortstop. The next year, Borzellino batted .272 for the Madisonville Miners. After a year off, he finished up with a .208 average for the Yuma Sun Sox and .246 with the Roswell Rockets.
