Biographical Information[edit]
Joe Block is an announcer.
After college, Block got a job covering high school sports part-time for a newspaper in Michigan. He went to the 1999 MLB winter meetings to try to get a play-by-play job in the minors and landed one with the Charleston RiverDogs. He moved to the St. Paul Saints then Jacksonville Suns, Great Falls White Sox and Billings Mustangs while also covering the NBA's New Orleans Hornets. He moved to the majors with a radio show for the 2011 Dodgers then spent four years doing radio for the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2016, he moved to the Pittsburgh Pirates to replace Tim Neverett.
