Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Proctor has a page in the book Crossing the Line. He went to Maryland State College (now called the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore), starring on a state-championship team, and then signed with the Negro League Indianapolis Clowns. He was leading the Southern League in ERA when called up to the majors by the Detroit Tigers in 1959.
