Biographical Information

Jim Pittsley was the first high school pitcher selected in the 1992 amateur draft. In his third season in the minor leagues, in 1994, Jim led the Carolina League in strikeouts while pitching for the Wilmington Blue Rocks. The following year, Jim was promoted at the age of 21 to the major leagues. Questions about whether he was rushed into the big leagues were seemingly answered when four years later Jim left the majors with a career 6.02 ERA.
