Biographical Information[edit]

Jim McGinley came to the majors late in the 1904 season with the St. Louis Cardinals, posting a 2.00 ERA in 27 innings of work. The next season, 1905, he was in only one game (three innings) with the Cards.

Born in Massachusetts, Jim had been with the Haverhill Hustlers of Haverhill, MA in 1901-1903. After his time in the majors, he was with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1906-1911, with an above-.500 record each year. In 1907 and 1909 he won 22 games for the team each year. In later years he pitched for the Binghamton Bingoes and the Worcester Busters.

One source [1] says St. Louis purchased him from Haverhill in 1904 and after his last appearance in 1905 with the team he returned to Haverhill, going 17-11. Many years later he died in Haverhill.
