Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Goss was a minor league player and college coach who later was a surgeon.

Goss hit .415 as a college junior, finishing among the leaders nationally in average (12th), triples (6, 10th) and steals (24, 17th). He was All-East Coast Conference at SS. He fell a bit as a senior, to .390, while moving to third base. He then played for the Newark Co-Pilots, hitting .282/.405/.444 with 43 walks and six homers in 47 games. He fielded .967 in the outfield and .887 at third base.

Goss returned to George Washington as head coach in 1983-1984. He then went to medical school and became an orthopedic surgeon.
