Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Jim Foxworth spent seven years in the minor leagues, winning over 100 games.

He played for the Mooresville Moors from 1948 to 1950, going 12-10 with a 3.34 ERA in 28 games the first year, 17-14 with a 3.34 ERA in 36 games the second campaign and 19-11 with a 2.71 ERA in 34 matches the third season. In 1951 and 1952, he played for the Raleigh Capitals, going 13-11 with a 3.23 ERA in 34 games the former year and 7-4 with a 2.50 mark in 13 appearances the latter. He did not play in 1953. In 1954, he returned with the Fayetteville Highlanders, going 17-7 with a 3.45 ERA in 38 games. In 1955, he went 16-11 with a 4.06 ERA in 34 games to wrap up his career. Overall, he went 101-68 with a 3.28 ERA in 217 games.

Foxworth also hit fairly well, batting .247 with 16 home runs in 782 at-bats over the course of his career. He even played a handful of games in the outfield.

He served in the Army during World War II.
