Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Bronstad, a big right-hander out of the University of Texas, made it to the big leagues for 16 games with the New York Yankees in 1959. He made it back to the AL in 1963 and 1964 for stints as a reliever with the Washington Senators, finishing 1-7 in 45 big league encounters. Bronstad spent 10 years in pro baseball, from 1955 through 1964, playing mostly in the high minors after 1958. His best season came with the Binghamton Triplets of the Eastern League, in 1957, when he went 15-8 with a 3.38 ERA. His minor league record was 86-95 in 272 games with a 3.74 ERA. He was a resident of Fort Worth, TX, where he was in the cement construction business after baseball.
