Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Acker was originally a member of the Atlanta Braves organization before being selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1982 Rule V Draft. He was traded back to Atlanta in 1986, then came back to Toronto as the result of another trade in 1989. He played his final season for the Seattle Mariners in 1992, thereby missing the Jays' first World Series appearance that same year. He primarily wore number 31. His brother, Bill, was a defensive lineman in the NFL for the St. Louis Cardinals (1980-1981), Kansas City Chiefs (1982) and Buffalo Bills (1983-1984).
