Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Jewell Walker was drafted in the 21st round of the 1989 amateur draft by the California Angels out of high school. He pitched 15 games in relief for the AZL Angels in 1989 with an ERA of 12.15. He allowed 27 hits, 23 walks and 30 runs (18 earned) in 13 1/3 innings.

Walker then went on to play college football, and was drafted as a quarterback in the 7th round of the 1994 NFL draft by the New England Patriots. He didn't play in 1994 or 1995, but got into one game for the Minnesota Vikings in 1996-1997, completing his only two pass attempts.

In 2011, Walker is working as a studio analyst for the 2011 College World Series for ESPN.
