Biographical Information[edit]

Jeung-min Cha played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 5 years.

Cha was drafted by the Haitai Tigers in the 10th round of the 2001 KBO draft, and he decided to go to college first. He represented Korea in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, going 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA; he took the loss against Vicyohandri Odelín of champion Cuba but held them to four runs in a complete game, their lowest offensive output of the round-robin phase. He joined the Tigers in 2005. Cha notched 3 holds with a 3.50 ERA in 30 games in his first season, then he had a 4.24 ERA in 15 games in 2006. He allowed 6 runs in 6 1/3 innings in 2007, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service. Cha struggled again after returning, and he only pitched 2 games with the big club in 2010. His ERA was 6.52 in 16 games in 2011, and the Tigers released him.

Overall, Cha was 4-3 with a 4.59 ERA, struck out 56 and pitched 80 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in the KBO.
