After spending time during the 1960s as a broadcaster for the St. Louis Cardinals, Jerry Gross was a member of the broadcast team for the expansion San Diego Padres in 1969, along with Frank Sims and Duke Snider. He was also the voice of the St. Louis Hawks, San Diego Rockets, and Indiana Pacers of the NBA, along with working college football games on ESPN.
