Biographical Information[edit]
Jerry Byrne pitched three games for the Chicago White Sox in 1929¸, starting one and posting a record of 0-1. In his major league debut on August 31st, he allowed only one hit and no runs in two innings against the Cleveland Indians. In his second appearance the next day against the Indians, he allowed one run in one inning. In his last appearance, a start, he pitched 4 1/3 innings against the Detroit Tigers, giving up 5 runs.
Jerry was born in Parnell, MI, near Grand Rapids, MI in the western part of the state. He attended St. Patrick High School and Michigan State University. [1]
