Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Jeremy McBryde has played in the minor leagues since 2007 (through 2014).

He was originally taken by the San Diego Padres in the 38th round of the 2005 amateur draft, but did not sign. When the Padres took him in the 26th round of the 2006 amateur draft, he did ink a contract.

The strikeout-tossing McBryde began his professional career as a starting pitcher, winning 8 games, posting a 4.28 ERA and striking out 158 batters in 136 2/3 innings for the Fort Wayne Wizards in just his second season. The next year, 2009, he had 82 strikeouts in 75 1/3 innings with the Lake Elsinore Storm.

The hurler became a relief pitcher in 2011. He made 63 appearances for the Storm that year and had a 4.32 ERA. He had 13 saves and a 3.57 ERA in 49 games for the San Antonio Missions in 2012 and in 2013, again with San Antonio, he had 15 saves and a 2.35 ERA in 61 appearances.

Following the 2013 campaign, he was granted free agency and signed with the Oakland Athletics. He began 2014 with their Triple-A squad, the Sacramento River Cats.
