Biographical Information

Jeremy Giambi played six years in the majors. His best year was 2002, split between two teams - the Oakland Athletics and Philadelphia Phillies - when he had an on-base percentage of .414 and a slugging percentage of .505. Jeremy played nine years in the minors, posting a line of .321/.435/.539. He had two game-winning, extra-inning hits with Oakland in 2000.

Giambi has been linked to the distribution of human growth hormone throughout the major leagues. He was one of the witnesses listed by the prosecution in the Trial of Barry Bonds in 2011.

He was the brother of Jason Giambi. He was found dead in his parents' home in Claremont, CA on the morning of February 9, 2022, at age 47. Few details were made public immediately, but the following day, the cause of death was revealed by police to have been suicide by gunshot.

Both Jeremy and Mark Kotsay were at California State University, Fullerton from 1994 to 1996. The team reached the College World Series in 1994 and 1995.
