Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Passan is baseball columnist with ESPN who is best known for discussing and announcing Major League Baseball updates and transactions. While attending Syracuse University, he got his start as a journalist by writing for The Daily Orange, but only began focusing on covering baseball in 2004 with the Kansas City Star. That year he became a member of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. then wrote for Yahoo! from 2006 to 2018. He joined ESPN in January of 2019.
He has also published a book called The Arm: Inside the Billion-Dollar Mystery of the Most Valuable Commodity in Sports in 2016 and was one of the co-authors of Death to the BCS: The Definitive Case Against the Bowl Championship Series in 2010.
Passan is Jewish. He was named the National Sportswriter of the Year in 2021 and received the Dan Jenkins Medal for Excellence in Sportswriting in 2022.
