Jeffrey M. Evans

Jeff Evans umpired one American League game; it came on opening day in 1991, in Baltimore, MD. The regular umpires had gone on strike during spring training, and while the problem was resolved just before the regular season started, the scheduled crew did not have time to make it to the game on time, resulting in the game between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles on April 8th being umpired by four officials who made their only big league appearance that day.

Evans had some prior professional umpiring experience, as he had worked in the New York-Penn League in 1981, the Midwest League from 1982-1984 and the Eastern League in 1984-1986.
