Biographical Information[edit]
One of the last arms out of the Houston Astros bullpen in the 1986 NLCS, Jeff Calhoun had a day to forget in the legendary Game 6. He unleashed two wild pitches, issued a walk and an RBI single, all of which pushed across just enough runs for the New York Mets to hang on for a 7-6 win in 16 innings. He enjoyed his finest season the following year, 1987, as the Philadelphia Phillies' lefty specialist, allowing only 7 earned runs in 42 2/3 innings en route to a 3-1 record and 1.48 ERA. In five total seasons in the majors, he recorded 5 saves with a 6-7, 2.51 record.
