Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Calcaterra is a college coach.
Calcaterra was All-State in football and baseball while in high school. In college, he was the catcher for the Indiana Hoosiers. Undrafted out of college, Calcaterra was amazing for the 1992 GCL Yankees. As a batter, he went 5 for 8 with two doubles and three walks for a 1625 OPS. On the mound, he threw four hitless, scoreless innings, walking one and whiffing six. Unfortunately, an arm injury ended his playing career.
Jeff was an assistant coach at Indiana for 11 years before becoming head coach at the University of Hartford in 2005. After a 3-34 start in 2011, he was fired from that role.
