Biographical Information[edit]

1B/OF Jason Perry was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 6th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Charles Aliano and made his pro debut that summer.

On January 27, 2003, John-Ford Griffin was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Blue Jays for a player to be named later. The Blue Jays sent Perry on June 23rd to Oakland to complete the trade.

Perry was briefly in the Detroit Tigers chain, then on August 14, 2007, he was traded by the Tigers back to the A's for Jack Hannahan.

He reached the big leagues with the Atlanta Braves in the summer of 2008 for a cup of coffee, replacing a struggling Jeff Francoeur. In his first MLB at bat, he hit an RBI triple off Houston Astros pitcher Brian Moehler, becoming the first player in Atlanta history to triple in their first at bat.

Perry called it a career after spending 2010 with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League.
