Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Berken was Clemson University's top pitcher in 2004 as a sophomore before undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2005. He rebounded to help Clemson to the 2006 College World Series. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 6th round of the 2006 amateur draft, signed by scout Dominic Viola and made his pro debut that summer. Jason saw his most substantial action in his rookie season, answering the bell for 24 starts in 2009 and crafting a rough 6-12, 6.54 mark while allowing 164 hits in 119 2/3 innings. He was a reliever to mixed results the remainder of his Baltimore days and made four starts for the Chicago Cubs in 2012 to end his big league tenure.
