Jamie Verheyleweghen played for Belgium in the 2007 European Junior Championship, going 1-0 with an unearned run in 3 1/3 IP. He got the upset win over Germany. In the 2009 European Junior Championship, he went 3 for 9 with a walk and a steal at the plate. On the mound, he walked four and fanned three in three innings, allowing one hit and two walks. His 6.00 ERA was still the best of any Belgian hurler with more than one inning pitched.

He made his First Division debut in 2009, going 6 for 30 with two walks, 5 runs and 5 RBI and allowing one unearned run in one inning pitched. He made the Belgian national team for the 2010 European Championship.
