Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher James Heller spent six years in the minor leagues.
He began his career with 13 wins in 1942, then missed 1943 to 1945 to World War II. With the Amarillo Gold Sox in 1948, he went 20-9 with a 4.55 ERA. After not pitching in 1949 or 1950, he returned in 1951 to go 20-5 with a 4.42 ERA for the Corpus Christi Aces.
Overall, he won at least 81 games and lost at least 52.
During World War II, he won a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and a Good Conduct Medal.
