Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher James Davis played in the minor leagues from 1948 to 1950 and managed at that level in 1950 and 1951. He pitched 69 games over three seasons, winning at least 16 times.

In 1950, he managed the Oil City Refiners to a 70-44 first place finish and a Middle Atlantic League finals appearance, which they lost. In 1951, he skippered the Niagara Falls Citizens to a 74-47 second place finish, leading the club to a Middle Atlantic League championship victory.
