Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder James Alvey spent three seasons in the minor leagues. He debuted in 1965 with the FRL Yankees, leading the Florida Rookie League in both average (.371) and hits (63); he was named to the FRL All-Star team. Moving up to the GCL Yankees in 1966, he slumped to .221/.230/.233 in 31 games. In 1967, he hit .243/.348/.313 for the Oneonta Yankees and fielded .844 in the field, last among New York-Penn League outfielders with 20+ games.
