Jake Witt

Biographical Information[edit]

Jake Witt took an unusual path to becoming a professional baseball coach. He did not play baseball either in college or professionally. Witt gained his coaching skills while a college student working in a variety of venues which are laid out in his LinkedIn profile[1]. From 2015 to mid-2020 Witt was an instructor at the Bakersfield Baseball Academy. He supplemented this work with a number of high school and college positions.

During these years Witt also coached in a summer collegiate league. He was the pitching coach for the Pierre Trappers of the Expedition League from 2018-2020. In 2019 he also served as the team's assistant general manager.

Starting in March 2021, Witt worked as a pitching intern at Driveline Baseball. He continued working with Driveline into the early part of 2022 as an online trainer.

The Baltimore Orioles hired Witt in 2022 as a pitching coach for their DSL Orioles Black squad. He then moved to the Seattle Mariners' organization as the pitching coach for the Modesto Nuts in 2023-2025.
