Biographical Information[edit]
Jake Witt took an unusual path to becoming a professional baseball coach. He did not play baseball either in college or professionally. Witt gained his coaching skills while a college student working in a variety of venues which are laid out in his LinkedIn profile[1]. From 2015 to mid-2020 Witt was an instructor at the Bakersfield Baseball Academy. He supplemented this work with a number of high school and college positions.

During these years Witt also coached in a summer collegiate league. He was the pitching coach for the Pierre Trappers of the Expedition League from 2018-2020. In 2019 he also served as the team's assistant general manager.
Starting in March 2021, Witt worked as a pitching intern at Driveline Baseball. He continued working with Driveline into the early part of 2022 as an online trainer.
The Baltimore Orioles hired Witt in 2022 as a pitching coach for their DSL Orioles Black squad. The next year Witt returned to California as the pitching coach for the Modesto Nuts in the Seattle Mariners player development system. He returned to the Nuts in 2024.
