Biographical Information[edit]
"While in St. Louis recently President Dovey, of Boston, signed a pony battery of six-footers in Jake Boultes and Jesse W. Orondorff, both of the St. Louis Trolley League. Boultes is about 22 years old and Orondorff 24. Boultes won fifteen out of sixteen games in his league." - Sporting Life, February 9, 1907
Jake Boultes pitched three years in the majors. His ERA as a rookie was close to the best on the team. While he was primarily a pitcher in the majors, he was mostly a position player during his eight years in the minors.
