Biographical Information[edit]
Jae-woo Lee was one of the top middle relievers in South Korea in 2005 and 2008.
Lee broke in during 2001 and had a 10.80 ERA in 3 outings. In '02, he was 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 3 games. Lee became a regular in 2003, pitching 25 games and going 3-0 with a 4.30 ERA. In 2004, he went 6-3 with a 4.43 ERA in 33 games. Lee broke through in 2005, when he posted a 7-5, 1.72 record with one save. He then missed two years due to military service. Returning to action in 2008, he did not skip a beat, going 11-3 with 2 saves and a 1.55 ERA; in 87 1/3 innings, he allowed only 54 hits and 2 homers.
Lee was with South Korea for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. He allowed 3 runs in 4 1/3 IP for the runner-ups; both of Lee's outings came against the champion Japanese team.
