Biographical Information[edit]
Missouri native Jack Tising spent twenty seasons in professional baseball from 1924 to 1946. He spent part of the 1936 season in the major leagues pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tising appeared in 10 games with a 1-3 record and a 4.21 ERA.
During Jack's twenty-year minor league run he appeared in 611 games, pitching 3,283 innings and finished his minor league career with a 177-226 record. He did have a 19-15 record with the International League Syracuse Chiefs and the Baltimore Orioles in a split season affair in 1939.
Jack played baseball for 23 years before moving to Buena Vista, Colorado in 1947. There he owned and operated a cafe and lounge. Tising passed away on September 5, 1967 in Leadville, CO at the age of 63.
