Biographical Information[edit]

Jack Powell was a National League umpire at the end of the 1923 season and at the start of 1924, and again in 1933 starting in late July until the end of the year. He had begun umpiring professionally in the Michigan-Ontario League in 1923, then went down to the Western League in 1924 and 1925. From 1926 to 1928 he was in the American Association and then worked a long time in the Pacific Coast League, from 1929 to 1932 and again from 1935 to 1953. He was in the International League before returning to the NL in 1933.

He worked as a scout for the Chicago Cubs in 1955.
