Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Balestreri played briefly in the minor leagues. He was with the Ponca City Angels and Salina Millers during 1938. In 1944, he was 1 for 18 for the Sacramento Solons. He then was in the Navy during World War II. Before his baseball career, he worked on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. He then was a draftsman for Scott Mechanical Contractors for 40 years. At the time of his death in 2012 at age 95, he was believed the last survivor of thousands of men who built the structure.
