Ixis Valle was an infielder for 16 seasons in Cuba, playing for Sancti Spíritus. He had hit .272/.329/.371 after 12 seasons (through 2004-2005), while fielding .960. He batted .274/.340/.384 in 2005-2006 and fielded .984, playing in the middle infield for the most part. In 2006-2007, he posted a .295/.389/.369 line while fielding .976 at all four infield slots; his main position was 3B, where he backed up Yulieski Gourriel. Valle fell to .236/.326/.305 and fielded .972 in 2007-2008. The veteran continued to slip in 2008-2009, going 18 for 87 with 6 walks, two doubles and a homer, backing up at 2B and 3B behind Orlando Acebey and Gourriel.
