Biographical Information[edit]

Itaru Ninomiya played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Ninomiya was signed by the Yomiuri Giants in 1975 and he played 108 games, primarily as defensive replacement in the outfield in 1977; he was 4 for 28. He only got 28 more at-bats combined in the next four seasons, and he played 59 games in 1982. However, Ninomiya was hitless in 15 at-bats that season, and he announced his retirement. He was the fielding coach for the Chunichi Dragons from 1998 to 2003, and he coached the La New Bears in 2004. Ninomiya then coached Matsumoto University from 2007 to 2010, and he was the fielding coach for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars from 2012 to 2013. He coached their minor league team from 2014 to 2015, and he managed them from 2016 to 2017. Seisa Dohto University then named him their new coach in 2018.

Overall, Ninomiya hit .113/.192/.127 with 8 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
