Biographical Information[edit]

Israel Arredondo starred for the Venezuelan national team in the first Pan American Games, in 1951. He led the event with five doubles and his 13 hits tied Juan Izaguirre for first. His doubles record stood until George Greer broke it in 1967. He also played in the 1952 Amateur World Series. Arredondo had a brief pro career, hitting .194/?/.224 for the Sabios de Vargas in the Venezuelan League; outfield mates included Harry Elliott and Lynn Lovenguth.
