Biographical Information[edit]
Irum Shahzadi was on the first Pakistani women's national team, at the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup. In their opener, she started in center field, batting 7th. She singled off Jung-hee Kang of South Korea for Pakistan's first hit in a Women's Baseball World Cup. It was her only hit in seven at-bats for the Cup; she also drew one walk, from the Netherlands' Berber Jansen. She had three putouts and no errors. Despite getting Pakistan's first hit, she wound up slightly below the team average (.143 to .169) [1] She was back with Pakistan for the 2017 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, when a teammate was Iram Shahzadi (presumably a relative?) Again the starter in center, she finished 1-for-4 with 3 walks and also pitched briefly in a rough outing against Taiwan (5 R, 4 ER, 1 H, 3 BB in 0 IP) to tie Kit-Yin Leung for the worst ERA. While not among the qualifiers, she led Pakistan in OBP, .071 ahead of Azra Farooq. [2]
