Iraklys Chirino is the twin brother of Irait Chirino. He debuted in the Cuban Serie Nacional four years after his brother, in 2008-2009. He hit .285/.429/.390 and fielded .925 with 8 errors in 80 games in the outfield, flanking his brother in the gardens for the Metropolitanos. Irait left for the rival Industriales the next year; Iraklys remained with the Mets and hit .269/.442/.325 with a league-high 84 walks in 86 games.
