Hugues Appleby
Hugues Appleby played for six years (1999-2003) with the Royals de Répentigny in the Ligue de Baseball Elite du Quebec junior league, where he averaged a 0.317 with 436 at-bats, with 35 stolen bases. He played shortstop and third base with Repentigny.
He signed a contract to play ball in France in 2004, where he then moved to play for two years (2005-2006) with the Rouen Huskies. He was a part of the Rouen team that won the French Division Elite championship in 2005, where he made the final out of the tournament while playing third base. He was nicknamed "Mister Quebec" by his fellow Rouen players.
After leaving Rouen, he returned to North America. He worked for a few years at Labatt's Breweries in Montreal as a sales representative. He was then invited to move to Los Angeles by his friend, Russell Martin. He is now (2008) working with Martin to launch a clothing line, to be called Armand Coltrane.
