Hugh Delano was a sportswriter who worked for the New York Post and Newark Evening News. In the baseball realm, he covered the New York Mets and New York Yankees. however he is more well-known for his coverage of hockey. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and a winner of the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award, given to a top hockey sportswriter each year.
