Homer (mascot)
Homer, also known as "Homer the Brave", is the current mascot of the Atlanta Braves. He first made his appearance in 1989 as a replacement for the Braves former and popular mascot Chief Noc-A-Homa. Not much is known about Homer as information about him is sparse. The Braves website only gives info about booking him for appearances.
Despite a low ranking in a few recent mascot polls (#26 in 2013 and #27 in 2015), fans of the Atlanta Braves love Homer, but his brother Rally is the more popular of the two current Braves' mascots. In terms of appearance, Homer has a baseball for a head, which gives him a slight resemblance to the New York Mets mascot, Mr. Met. Though Homer has a Braves' hat as well as black eye-liner. It has been said that the two are National League East cousins.
