Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Hisayuki Ikeda debuted with Hankyu in 1939, hitting 1 for 4 with two walks. In '40, Ikeda hit .227/.244/.273 in 22 games then was 0 for 4 the next season. He put up a .219/.297/.239 line with four runs in 59 games in '42, then hit .172/.252/.202 in 1943 to finish at .193/.269/.220 in 440 AB. The next year, he died in combat during World War II.
