Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroshi Nakamoto spent three years with the Japanese national team but never turned pro. In the 1990 Baseball World Cup, he hit .417/.463/.528 with 10 runs in 9 games; only Shinichi Sato had a better average for Japan. Nakamoto had one assist and no errors in right field. He played in the 1990 Asian Games. In the 1991 Intercontinental Cup, he again started in right for Japan and batted .308/.438/.346. He struggled in the 1992 Olympics, going 0 for 7 with four walks, five strikeouts and two runs, backing up Sato in right and Hirotami Kojima at DH.
