Biographical Information[edit]

Hiromu Kojima pitched in NPB and the TML.

Kojima was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the 1990 NPB draft, and he went 6-5 with a 3.60 ERA in his rookie year. He pitched 18 games with a 2.81 ERA in 1992, then he went 2-1 with a 2.93 ERA in 1993. Kojima recorded a solid 1.53 ERA in 33 appearances in 1994, but he slumped to a 5.40 ERA in 25 games in 1995. He struggled again as his ERA was 6.23 in 13 games in 1996, and he only pitched 6 games in 1997. The Dragons then traded him with Kazutoshi Higuchi to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Takatoshi Kishikawa and Tokitaka Minamibuchi, and his ERA was 3.48 in 17 games in 1998. However, Kojima only pitched 5 games in 1999, then the Marines released him. He signed with the Chianan Luka in 2000, and Kojima had a 3.52 ERA in 7 appearances. He announced his retirement after the 2000 season, and he coached Otemon Gakuin University from 2015 to 2021.

Overall, Kojima was 19-15 with a 3.60 ERA, struck out 233 and pitched 344 2/3 innings in 9 years in NPB.
