Biographical Information[edit]
Hiromasa Tamano has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Tamano was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the first round of the 1996 NPB draft. He spent the first three years in the NPB Farm leagues, and only played 6 games combined with big club. He also represented Japan in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup. Tamano had a career-high 172 at-bats with a .209/.247/.285 batting line in 2000. The Kobe native was demoted again in 2001, so he only played 47 more games with the big club. The Lions traded him with Susumu Otomo to the Chunichi Dragons for Akira Miyakoshi and Shottsu Eiji in 2004. Takayama stayed in the ni-gun for the entire 2005 season, then announced his retirement after that season.
Overall, Tamano had hit .208/.250/.285 in 5 seasons in NPB.
