Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroki Katsuragi played for the Japanese national team, including in the Olympics.
He played for Toshiba in the industrial leagues after high school, and later coached for them, never turning pro. In the 1988 Baseball World Cup, he started at third base for Japan, hitting .267/.324/.300 with five runs and three RBI in twelve games. He was 0 for 19 in the 1988 Olympics, hitting leadoff for Japan; they finished second, but baseball was not yet a medal event.
