Biographical Information[edit]

Henry Youngman played 13 games with the Chicago Colts in 1890. He appeared at both third base and second base. He also had nine seasons of minor league and other pro ball. He was one of the earliest players born in Germany. The Wikipedia article claims his birth name was Heinrich Hugo Jungmann.

" Youngman is out of his position at third and makes short throws, while Hines, as everybody knows, isn't much of a first baseman, and gets a short throw once in fifteen." - criticism of Henry Youngman and veteran Paul Hines in Sporting Life, May 3, 1890
